Jump Rope For Heart

2011-02-10-emily_jumpingMy daughter Emily is once again participating in Jump Rope For Heart, like she does every year. It is something that she finds really important, because it is personal for her. In 2008, her little brother Kevin, my son, died from congenital heart disease at the young age of 2 1/2.

KevinPart of the annual program is raising donations for the American Heart Association. She knows that this money goes to research that will help understand and cure heart disease, and that some big sister years from now might still have her brother because of this research.

I try to keep my work separate from my personal life, and I have never posted something to my Better Facebook audience that is important to me personally. Emily asked if I would see if any of my users would want to donate to support her and help her reach her goal, so I thought about it and agreed to do it just this one time. Her goal this year is to raise $599, which would beat last year when she raised $501.

I know some of you have donated to me personally to support my project, and I thank you. I hope you don’t mind this simple, personal request that is 100% for charity. My daughter would be thrilled if some of you would support her with a modest donation, help her reach her goal, and raise money to help a cause that she thinks is very important.

Thank you!

Matt
